Tip of the day….

Lack of sleep can make you fat. -Interfering with sleep decreases exercise capacity and threatens metabolic health, which leads to obesity. Sleep is essential for normal energy balance and weight control. (Current Sports Medicine Reports, 8:331-338,2009)

My take- I can speak for myself when saying that lack of sleep not only effects my exercise intensity but my nutritional decision making. When you are tired you are less likely to prepare your own food. We also might look to “comfort food” that is high in fat and calories to make us feel better.  -Josh
