If you’re like me you don’t like performing cardio but of course we all know it is great for our cardiovascular system and an excellent way to burn calories and fat. There is good news for those of you who hate cardio as much as I do. We can burn calories just as effectively without ever stepping on a treadmill, recumbant bike, stairmaster, etc.
Consider this…. Cutting your breaks when weight training to 30 seconds or less will multiply the amount of calories burned during the workout. When resting between exercises keep your breaks short. This will keep your heart rate higher, body temperature warmer, and hormones elevated. Each of these conditions will force the body to burn more calories, many more. You don’t have to sweat it out on the cardio equipment, learn more exercises, or spend more time in the gym. In fact everything stays the same and you’ll actually spend less time in the gym! Just keep your eye on the second hand or wear a watch with a timer.
