3 Steps to boost your metabolism

Since we burn the majority of our calories when we do nothing due to our basal resting metabolism, it would be smart to make it as efficient as possible. That’s correct, we burn the majority of our calories (60-75%) while we rest!

Here are the 3 most important steps to boost your resting metabolism:

1.Eat early– you’ve heard this one before, yet many still ignore the rule that we MUST eat breakfast to have a healthy metabolism. Not hungry in the morning? That is a sure sign that your metabolism is crawling.

2. Weight train– build muscle and increase your lean body mass. This is the sure fire way to increase your metabolism through exercise, give the elliptical a rest.

3. Eat protein at each meal–the weight training means little if we don’t take advantage of muscle repair and aid in protein synthesis with moderate to high amounts of protein with each feast.

Sound like a plan just for a man? Don’t make the mistake of believing that a high protein diet and weight training is just for men. Time, and time again, this formula works like magic on my female clients.

You can try in this way, that your brain takes longer to register the fullness sensation then the rate you eat at. If you drink a glass of water before meals and pace yourself when eating, you could eat less or feel fuller earlier, which can help you lose weight.
